Services

FRIENDS OF AUTISM is a CHARITY helping families to help themselves.  As a privately funded charity it is not necessary for your child to have a diagnosis of Autism for us to assist your family.

We have a range of programs and support services available, some of which are detailed throughout the web-site.  Hopefully you will find something that is helpful to you and your family.  If you are eligible for FACSHIA funding we are on the ASD Panel in Western Australia – please refer to the details below.

All money raised from intervention services goes back into the Charity to provide further services.

Teenager Social Group

Social Groups are a great environment for individuals to make friends, feel a sense of belonging, share interests and experiences, develop social skills and learn about common social issues for their age group.

The Friends of Autism Teenager Social Group provides an inclusive and age appropriate social setting for teenagers to engage in exciting activities.

Social Groups include activities such as: bowling, movies, wii games, soccer, football, table tennis, ipad games, computer games… and more!

Each Social Skills Group will also include food such as: pizza, pasta or subway!

When Each Friday (please check with Friends of Autism for starting date)
Where 3/77 Wanneroo Road, Tuart Hill
Time 4.30pm - 5.30pm
Ages Teenagers 13 - 16 years of age
Cost $40 per session

Social Skills Group (Term Three)

Social Skills Groups provide a structured setting for primary aged children to learn and develop social skills in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Friends of Autism records the outcomes of each child throughout the session and provides feedback to parents/carers.

Social Skills Groups are aimed at developing:

  • Social Skills
  • Social language and communication
  • Identifying emotions related to selves and others
  • Coping with own emotions

Tuesday Social Skills Group

7 – 12 yrs Tuesday 30th July until Tuesday 24th September (9 sessions per term)
Where 3/77 Wanneroo Rd, Tuart Hill
Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Cost $40.00 per session (9 sessions per term)

Wednesday Social Skills Group

3 – 6 yrs Wednesday 31st July until Wednesday 25th September (9 sessions per term)

Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Cost $40.00 per session (9 sessions per term)

Curious Minds Group (Term Three)

The Friends of Autism Curious Minds Group provides a structured setting for upper primary aged children to engage in exciting and challenging academic activities whilst learning and developing social skills in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

The Curious Minds Group is aimed at developing:

  • Social Skills
  • Social language and communication
  • Theory of Mind principles
  • Emotional regulation

Friends of Autism records the outcomes of each child throughout the session and provides feedback to parents/carers.

7 – 12 yrs From Monday 29th July until Monday 23rd September (9 sessions per term)

Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Toy Library now open at Friends of Autism

Open Every Wednesday starting 20 Feb 2013
Time 10.00am – 12.00noon

Membership is open to all families living with a diagnosis and those waiting for one.
Membership forms are available on request – no membership fee. Loan bond $10.00
